Workshops and Collaborations

Sound to Image
VCFA Workshop | Montpelier, VT | 2018

A week-long workshop with high school students at the Vermont College of Fine Arts. Students recorded sounds from nature, then converted those sounds to images using a computer algorithm. The images were then projected together to form a large-scale collaborative mural.

Collections + Maps
VCFA Elementary Methods Workshop | Montpelier, VT | 2018

After defining their “ideal neighborhood,” students set about collecting natural materials and found objects. Once gathered, the objects were arranged and photographed as a “map.” The maps were then photographed from different angles to teach students about photographic perspective.

Design Thinking
VCFA Workshop | Montpelier, VT | 2018

In this collaboratively taught workshop, students brainstormed topics of social issues to research and communicate. Each student then created their own “zine” to pass out around their community.
